In 1950, Fleetwood began building an exciting new product, the recreational vehicle. American families were looking for new ways to enjoy their new found postwar prosperity. Before long, Fleetwood saw another lifestyle need as the baby boom began - affordable housing for young families.
Fleetwood's roots are in meeting the ever changing lifestyle needs of its customers. We started with building travel trailers to meet the needs. Over 50 years ago, we leveraged this expertise to pave the way for a whole new industry - residential homes built off-site, in a controlled environment. There are many terms for this type of housing but our happy homeowners and their families and friends just like to call it "home."
